Red Sentry was born from a deep frustration with the slow and outdated nature of traditional penetration testing. After years of seeing companies spend millions just to play defense—responding to threats long after the damage was done—our founders knew there had to be a better way.
Valentina Flores began her career in law enforcement, working as a police detective on a federal task force. Over time, her focus shifted toward cybercrime, where she saw firsthand how unprepared many organizations were for the threats they faced. She partnered with Alex Thomas, an innovative penetration tester who had been stress-testing and breaking into Fortune 500 companies for years. Together, they realized how broken the industry was and began working to fix it.
That collaboration fueled a vision: to bring a faster, more proactive, and more realistic approach to cybersecurity. Red Sentry was built to combine cutting-edge software with the expertise and creativity of real-world ethical hackers, helping companies stay ahead of threats before they become breaches.
Today, Red Sentry delivers pentests in days, not weeks or months, by blending automation with expert-driven testing. This modern approach empowers organizations to move faster and respond smarter. Because in today’s world, checking a box once a year just isn’t enough. True security and peace of mind should be accessible to all.
Valentina is a former detective on a federal task force that specialized in cybercrime, computer forensics, and criminal psychology. She’s currently CEO of Red Sentry, a member of Infragard, and a public speaker on cybercrime prevention and hacker psychology.

Max’s path to cybersecurity was anything but traditional. After starting his career in logistics and IT, he spent several years in Japan as a public school teacher, private school owner, and small business operator offering rapid prototyping and physical pentesting services. During that time, he also worked as a contractor for Red Sentry—eventually joining full-time in 2024 and quickly rising through the ranks to lead our security product strategy.
Max is known for remaining calm under pressure, his creative problem-solving, and his ability to break down complex issues into clear, actionable solutions. With a strong foundation in hardware and software, he's especially skilled at research, fast learning, and helping clients tackle tough security challenges.
